About the Practice

Welcome to my practice! My journey into the field of mental health began when I worked as a research coordinator for the UC Davis Mind Institute. I worked with families and individuals enrolled in research studies focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tourette’s Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other developmental disorders. While working with families on these studies I realized that, while the work was important, there was more I had to contribute to the individuals in our community. I wanted to work to help people through their experience of healing and further develop skills to manage the challenges they were experiencing in their life.

 

I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University in 2015. I also completed clinical training at the UC Davis MIND Institute in social skills and clinical assessment. Post graduate school, I completed my clinical training at Healing Pathways Psychological Services, focusing primarily on trauma, anxiety disorders, women’s issues, and social communication skills. I have completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Training (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness.

 

With all my training and experience in the field, I have a diverse background and knowledge that can serve clients from many backgrounds and can serve clients with a diverse set of needs. I believe that healing can happen when a client has a supportive relationship with their therapist and are able to make connections between multiple experiences in their life. By developing a trusting relationship, a client can take what they have learned in therapy into their experience in the world. They can develop a greater sense of self and have more confidence in their ability to handle difficult situations with newfound skills gained through the experience of therapy.

Mindful Connections Mental Health Services was created with the idea that people can have a balanced life with greater mental wellness once they gain awareness of events and experiences from their past, present and future that may be blocking their ability to gain mental wellness.

Symbol of Mental Wellness

The logo of Mindful Connections is a Celtic triskele. This Celtic knot is a symbol of growth, transition, and expansion, things that I hope my clients gain through therapy and the process of healing. 

 

What to Expect

In order to achieve mental wellness, it is important to set goals for therapy and meet consistently for therapy sessions. With this in mind, weekly appointments are recommended. Having consistent sessions is another way to create balance and predictability in your life, which is important in the process of healing.
